I would never give this beauty up, but when traveling alone or traveling light, it sometimes sadly gets left behind. If you prefer duffle-style luggage, the Keepall line is a great alternative.
I also have a Keepall and it is one of my favorite pieces for overnight or short weekend trips, and has stood up VERY well over a lot of hard use. I have a friend who always uses a Keepall as her checked luggage, and despite all the many things that can destroy checked luggage, hers is still in perfect shape and has actually developed a beautiful weathered patina.
The Little Market trunks have been on my wish list for a long time. They come in several colors, from trendy maroon to classic white and black to my personal favorite, the lovely feminine blush pink. An added bonus — their backstory. These trunks are made by Nappa Dori , an Indian fashion house that funds local female artisans with interest-free loans and also donates a portion of its profits to Harmony House , a community center for the women and children of the Delhi slums.
For those who are prefer leather goods, American artisan Frank Clegg is renowned for his timeless and high quality pieces. His signature piece is his travel duffle , a no-frills staple that will appeal to men and women alike. The leather is buttery smooth, the interior Sunbrella lining is both weather resistant and nearly tearproof, and the bag is available in a number of different color options.
The recently unveiled collaboration between Michael Bastian and Frank Clegg looks to be even more impressive. Do you have a favorite suitcase or baggage maker? Do you own one of the bags above and have a lot to say about it? Do you have a unique need that makes finding the right piece of luggage difficult? If so, let me know in the comments below!

Their lifetime warranty is no questions asked and repairs are very quick. My zipper split November 3, my repaired bag was delivered to my door on November I have tried out the 4 and 8 wheeler suitcases and they are amazing — but my travel pro has treated me so well, I have not made the jump to upgrade just yet.
Reply Cancel. Lauren I so wish you had this posted before our trip! I bought a carry on size travelpro and love it, served us well in our trip and look forward to using it for more travels. We also purchased a Briggs and Riley rolling duffle medium with two compartments, I totally recommend it!
Perfect size for a couple if you want to share a suitcase we checked one bag and packed a duffel to check extra on the way home. I kinda fell in love with the Briggs and Riley brand when I did my research! Ruth Payne Your website is absolutely delicious! For the other colors? Heck yes. We own a couple of the other cases and the navy, the leather one my husband insisted on and the cream all live up to our wildest travel dreams. But they do come with some drawbacks. Gorgeous: These cases are so lovely and photogenic.
Even if you are not the best photographer, the Steamline cases look lovely in a photo which is important even if you rarely travel. Quality: The quality is excellent! Including the straps which have proven to be beneficial as I am a chronic overpacker. Practical: Each case comes with the necessary basics even though its gorgeous including a TSA lock and silent wheels. Though when I got our cases, there were no spinners at the time.
But when you compare the price to that of a Tumi or even a Louis Vutton, you are definitely getting what you paid for. The locks: These break easily. If it breaks outside of the timeframe of the warranty, you can get the lock fixed like Marcus did with his little carry on.
He sent it off to the folks that Steamline recommended. I will say, the process was nail biting for Marcus since this little suitcase is his pride and joy and the company that it was sent to was disorganized and unresponsive at times. But it came back and the lock is fixed so take that with a grain of salt.
